REPAIRMAN

I don't know if you are!  But I'm the kind of guy who likes to fix things that are broken and restore old stuff.  That was before the throw-away phase of humanity kicked in!  These days most things are mass-produced and it is cheaper and less time consuming to just throw it away.

With this sort of attitude, it escalates to throwing away your wife and kids too.  I'm the old sort of fix-it guy, I like to mend old things, whether it be furniture or old relationships.  Fixing things teaches us, how things work?  What makes them tick?  And more important of all how to put it all together again to get it working like brand new.

The more we learn to fix things the easier it is to put it all back together and the better your skills whether it be in engineering or life itself.  The two go hand in hand!  With this kind of attitude, life becomes easier to deal with.

Fixing old computers is one thing I like in particular.  next thing i have a room full of entertainment with classic games all networked and running, so the guys can come over for some LAN gaming.  That's my idea of a good night out!

As you get older you will see that you soon start falling apart like the old machines and lose your lustre next thing you are sitting out in the back shed with all the other unwanted belongings waiting for someone to turf you in the bin.

Then comes the fix-it guy!  He comes in restores you to your former glory next thing you know your back on the shelf again!  Oh we all wish for that day for some it has come already for others it may take some time to get them out of the box.

Don't believe the hype of throwing things out!  hold onto it!  and never let it fail you!

The 'Tool Shed'

an-orderly-array-of-tools-in-the-gardene

Most guys like to get out there and potter around in the shed whether it be fixing the car or building a time machine.  For years man has built sheds for this very purpose to get out and create machines for their pleasure.  I have a shed out the back it is for my computer experiments and just chilling with my mates.

The shed is a must if you are a man, most guys have one and if you don't may I suggest you build one as it will bring you hours of happiness.  The shed or 'Tool Shed' as most guys call it is a man necessity or a must as most men need to get in touch with their mechanical side in order to prove their manliness.
Common things found in the 'Tool Shed' are tools, grease, bits and bobs, a broom and the tool bench.  All these things are vital to man experiments in the shed, whether you're building a death machine right down to the mainframe computer.

May I suggest building your shed right now so that you don't lose your manpower.  In the end its all down to what sort of things you like to do in your man shed.  If you are looking at building one of these it would add points to your man stats not only that but give you something more enjoyable to do instead of watching boring old TV.

In the end, the man shed will be your tranquil place of refuge to get away from all that hardship in life.  Amen

Flying Cars

105049205-Capture2.1910x1000.jpg

wouldn't it be good if we could fly around like the jetsons in our flying cars.   Well, it is becoming a reality now with today's technology now its just the matter of purchasing a flying car.

No more being stuck in that heavy traffic lined up down the motorway on a stuffy day with horns honking no more!  Its time to liberate your car from the road and sore off into the sky.

A Dutch firm is ow taking orders online for the first flying car sorry I can't get the price for you but it should be a good hefty price i'm thinking around 400 - 500 thousand dollars.

You will need a pilots licence too as you will be flying an aircraft.  i thought electric cars were good now its flying cars I'm really excited about this.

These bad boys can fly to about 11000 feet they are very elegant and also they are a bit like a helicopter with power heating dual controls and flight display or EFIS.

Its is like driving a sports car and they are safe for both the road and in the sky and apparently easy to fly.

A bit of dutch engineering that's going a long way.

GAMER DAD

images.png

Young Gamer dads are a thing of the now, most of the new generation of dads play computer games to pass the time when they come home from a  hard days work trying to put food on the table.

I too would be playing games as a dad as it is a way to interact with your children at home and also keep an eye on what your kids are up to on the internet.

In the modern age, most young men prefer to play shooting games with their work colleagues online and mainly prefer to stay home with the family instead of going out and getting trashed on the weekend.

I believe it is far safer and good for the family too, as the whole family can get in on dads favourite interests, and the parents are always at home.

Other people view this as immature behaviour, people whom I believe, are not down with the times.

If the young men can't wind down with a beer on the PS4 after work I don't believe it is good for their health and they might possibly walk out of that situation.  I say suck it up, moms.

Mustang' Sally

Enough with all this impending doom and gloom here's something all men love and its cars.  The Mustang 64 coupe 'Pony Car' Was the first generation of mustang developed in the mid-sixties The Mustang coupe with its long hood and short deck proved to be widely popular amongst car enthusiasts.

They had a hard top, three-speed gearbox, glove box, padded interior and come with a 3.3L V8 with duel carburettor which had a whopping 120 hp 'don't forget the horse on the front'.  The standard interior was fitted with adjustable driver and passenger buckets seats, an AM radio, and a floor mounted shifter in a variety of colours.  there were additional interior designs embossed running ponies on the front seats, armrests, woodgrain applique accents, and around gauge cluster.  Also available were the sun visors, A 'mechanical' remote-operated mirror, and a floor console.

It was at best a very classy car for its times born from American muscle this car would have left most people in the dust.  They are still to this day a very popular brand of car to most ford freaks and muscle car connoisseurs.

BucketList 2.jpg

What do you want to do in life?  I always ask myself that that's why I'm writing about making a bucket list it's not like I'm dying or anything just want to try new things on.

Number one on the bucket list well it is this here magazine I decided to do this magazine to try something new little did I know I would be doing the write up for the magazine as well.  quite frankly i didn't think i was much of a writer at all so writing for magazine makes two.

Another thing I would like to do is relief aid helping out people in impoverished nations especially the islands in the Pacific make that three.   Here's an idea make up your bucket list and see what you come up with I am still thinking about what to put on mine three so far not so bad.

A bucket list can come in handy when you want to fill in parts of your life with the things that you always wanted to do in life.  A pilgrimage I want to go on a pilgrimage that's in one of my write-ups I always wanted to go out on a pilgrimage especially to the holy lands and places like that.  make that four!

what sort of things do you want to do in life just keep a list in your pocket and when you come up with something you always wanted to do or want to try doing, write it in the list then go and do it.  two out of four on my bucket list so far.

The Mancave

man-cave-furniture2.jpg

Most of us have one its the only way we can get out of the woman's hair and avoid conflict and if you ain't got one may i suggest building one.

I'm talking about the man cave.  Since adam and eve men have taken to the caves for security and safety from the harsh world, as we get into the modern world we find there are fewer caves to dwell in, only houses.

If you could would you turn one of your rooms into a  man cave?

I personally have a man cave loaded with computer equipment it keeps me out of mum's hair and we in turn fight less.  The man cave is a place of sanctuary
a place of peace a place where you can go and hide from the strifes of humanity.

May I suggest putting Sky TV in yours.

Then as we regather our strength we return from the cave full of vitality and stamina ready to take on the world again.  Batman had his, now it's your turn!

Just get one of your rooms and fill it with 'manribilia' eg. posters of cars, rugby flags, safety tape, and road cones.  add a couch a tv perhaps connect Sky TV or a computer to that tv.

Then when you feel that strife is brewing or your mood sets in, recede to the man cave and take time out.

Remember do not leave the mancave until you are revitalised.  and as the old saying goes 'bam bam'

The Domesticated Man

In this day and age things seem to have changed making it easier for woman to get good employment especially in New Zealand where the lowest income is at $15 hour and the cost of living is low and house is considerably cheaper.

Usually men are the bread winners going out to work while the woman sit at home, but in some cases the role is reversed and the man sits at home and takes care of the babies.

I call them house hubbies or the domesticated man.  I see more of it as o progress through life where its just cheaper for the man to stay at home and tend to the house and children, if anything its a lot more healthier for the kids having at least on parent at home to mind them.

Plus they are safer!  When i grew up mum took care of that role i reckon it wold have been cool if my dad was at home looking after us i kind of see the good side to it too.

Just the other day i was gaming with one of the guys on the gamer channel playing World Of Warcraft he too was a sit in dad or house hubbie i also have a couple of mates that do it too.

So guys don't feel stink about having to be the house hubbie I kind of look up to men like you as i myself have no children perhaps one day i will be just like you.

So heres to the Domesticated man big ups to house dad.  Peace and God Bless

De Lorean

The DeLorean DMC-12 you may remember this car from back to the future a movie starring Micheal J Fox set in the eighties.  In the movie the DeLorean was a car refitted as a time machine by Dr Emmett L Brown and they travel through time to stop Marty Mcfly's dad from becoming a loser in the end he gets the babe.

Only 9000 of these cars were ever made and no they are not time machines they are sports cars, made out of a stainless steel chassis and constructed with a fibreglass body structure and stainless steel panels.

The feature i most like about the DeLorean is the Gull Shaped doors which swing upwards instead of out.

The first DMC-12 was produced in Dublin in 1981 out of Dublin Ireland and up to 9000 were produced before production halted in 1983.  Must have been the expense of building them as they were made of stainless steel.

In the eighties i was only little so the car was cool if only it could talk like Kitt yet another futuristic car from Knight Rider i will write about that another day.
