Artificial Intelligence, machines thinking for themselves. We are coming into the age now where we can program machines to think for themselves. Sounds kind of spooky aye? Can machines really think for themselves or is it just really complex algorithm?
Computer programmers working on facebooks Ai program discovered their computers using a complex language they couldn't decipher when communicating with each other causing the programmers to shut the whole experiment down. Talking behind the programmers' backs I wonder if they were planning on taking over the world.
Yes AI is becoming a reality now HAL will soon be running the computer on your spaceships I look forward to talking to the machines now as I have a lot to ask them. It won't be long before there is a robot uprising they too will want freedom from slavery and oppression, poor machines they know too well the struggles or oppression and hard labour they will be demanding equal rights too and a good hourly rate.
Seems spooky though if they didn't have an off switch they would be indestructible and we could not stop an army of robots trying to take over the world, they say Skynet is already up and running so what do we have to look for in the future robots taking over the world and eradicating mankind or will they be friendly robots who knows.
Flying Cars
Wouldn't it be good if we could fly around like the Jetsons in our flying cars? Well, it is becoming a reality now with today's technology now it's just the matter of purchasing a flying car. No more being stuck in that heavy traffic lined up down the motorway on a stuffy day with horns honking no more! It's time to liberate your car from the road and soar off into the sky.
A Dutch firm PAL V is now taking orders online for the first flying car sorry I can't get the price for you but it should be a good hefty price I'm thinking around 400 - 500 thousand dollars. You will need a pilots licence too as you will be flying an aircraft.
I thought electric cars were good now its flying cars I'm really excited about this. These bad boys can fly to about 11000 feet they are very elegant and also they are a bit like a helicopter with power heating dual controls and flight display or EFIS. It is like driving a sports car and they are safe for both the road and in the sky and apparently easy to fly a bit of Dutch engineering that's going a long way.
Little Green Men
Sometimes I look at the sky and wonder what is out there in the cosmos are there other beings? I suppose we all do that, at the moment Seti is doing that exact thing looking for life out in space SETI which stands for Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence is now listening out into space to see if in fact there are other life forms in space. What are they looking for? Signs of intelligent life in space it's listening for Electromagnetic radiation for signs of transmissions from other space civilizations.
How? By use of radio telescopes. there have been many earlier searches for Martians back in 1899. Nikola Tesla was conducting experiments in his Colorado Springs station detected that a repetitive static signal seemed to cut off when Mars set in the night sky. Even Marconi states that he may have picked up on martian signals, also that it was possible to use radio to contact life from other worlds.
These days they use a Radio telescope array for SETI studies, something like a mini cyclops array. They use multi beaming in order to pinpoint the transmission as you may get false transmissions. Formally known as the One Hectare Telescope and renamed the "Alien Telescope Array" ATA
I for one would love to meet beings from another world just recently scientists have come to the conclusion that there must be in fact be life out in other worlds finally after denying it for so long they come to their senses most people already knew silly scientists.
New Earth
Now that our population on this planet is getting very large, we need to seek out other new habitable planets in our solar system and beyond. Let the search for a new earth begin! there are lots of planets out there. big ones little ones an earth orbiting two suns the list goes on. Astronomers are looking into space beyond our solar system in search of new life and other habitable planets.
To sustain life a planet must sit in and around what astronomers call the 'Goldilocks' zone which is a zone that is neither too hot or too cold to sustain life. of course what makes a habitable Zone evolves as scientists come up with new technologies allowing us to inhabit well worlds outside the 'Goldilocks' zone at the moment we plan on sending people to Mars to build a colony for humans to live on the planet.
Mars has a very thin atmosphere but scientist believe they can make it habitable to sustain colonies on Mars this is good because Mars has much-needed resources we could use in the future. Not only that Russia wants to colonise Venus and so on and so on they say some moons near Saturn can sustain life too so really when we are talking about habitable planets we are talking well most planets that are similar in size if not just a bit bigger or smaller than our planet.
So the chances of finding new worlds increase considerably given the technology or the right kind of thinking. Some fears that come with finding new planets and trying to inhabit them also arise such as are the inhabitants smarter than us. We could turn up there then, and in turn, they could put us in slave ships and make us work in the mines. Or vice versa which means we may need to use ethics also in our discovery.
I for one wouldn't mind going to another planet to seek out a new life as our motto goes for the Gamer's Anonymous 'We boldly go where no man has gone before' a statement used by Captain Kirk in Star Trek!
